If a robot does the dance routine the robot, is it just dancing? or doing the robot? |
This question has not been commented on recently, but I have to state my opinion, as this is a matter of utmost importance. I believe that a robot is only doing "the robot" if it is performing an approximation of the dance we humans term "the robot," and otherwise is simply dancing in a manner to be named as it would be were a human performing the same actions. |
No you are all wrong. The "robot dance" are the moves that one makes with your hands when trying to figure out where your robot will go in the popular game "RoboRally". This dance is only done by the human player in RoboRally If you are into Robotics and haven't played RoboRally - you really should. It should the the FIRST official board game. |
I would imagine that it would be dancing, but specifically doing The Robot. Seeing as it is a robot, it's just a robot doing The Robot, as opposed to a person doing The Robot. |
I respectfully disagree. A robot would be doing the robot if it were dancing, as it is impossible for a robot to do anything else. |
I think that if a robot were to dance, it would do "the human". Dancing like a robot would be standard for it. A robot dancing like a human would be a cool as a human dancing, "the robot". |
As we discussed at your presentation in Atlanta, I believe that the dance style is called the robot, whereas, the robot is only doing the "Robot" if they are dancing in that particular style. If the robot were doing, say, the Macarena, it would be dancing the Macarena. Thats my two cents worth. |

You have to be careful if you have a robot doing the robot dance. That is a recursive function and without proper safeguards could cause the robot to blow his stack. OK, I agree, geek humor is not pretty but its all we got ;> |

????????????
If there are going to be more questions posted like this I will not post here anymore.
